Born and raised in Tokyo, I have long been surrounded by flowers that exist quietly within the urban landscape. Flowers In Season explores the relationship between these everyday flowers and the memories they evoke through AI and generative art.
The work draws a parallel between seasonal flowers and digital signage. Just as people often pass by billboards without noticing their messages, the flowers that color the city frequently fade into the background of daily life. By bringing attention to these overlooked presences, the work invites viewers to pause and rediscover the changing seasons embedded within familiar surroundings.
AI-generated and digitally transformed flowers appear both recognizable and unfamiliar, hovering between reality and memory. Their shifting forms reflect the way memories gradually blur over time, creating new images that exist somewhere between observation and imagination. Through this process, Flowers In Season encourages a renewed awareness of the present and the quiet beauty hidden within everyday life.
